What great goals you have....
By Nancy, at 1/05/2006 11:35:00 AM
I am so HAPPY my kids went back to school.
I wish we could all be trust fund babies so we did not have to work all the time...
I'm IN!
-
LOL, I made my DIY projects separate resolutions last week. :) My list is up, too.
By Uisce, at 1/05/2006 11:37:00 AM

I like those. I don't really do resolutions.
By Bone, at 1/05/2006 12:09:00 PM
I think the cow skull would make a fine mantle piece. Just sayin'...
Oh, and I T-13'd this week. Yes, it's also a verb now.
-
OK, I'm a big fatty fat butt, so maybe I just don't "get" this. How much weight can there be to lose if you're running marathons and 25Ks? It seems to me that whatever you've got, if you can carry it that far, it can't be that bad...
By Jen, at 1/05/2006 12:47:00 PM
But, I'm serious, I've never been a "fit" person, so I may as well be discussing anatomy with a person from another planet. I really don't know what I'm talking about here.
Sorry, my brain just shorted out there... Thanks for stopping by my blog. I always like your visits, and reading your posts.
-
I don't really do resoultions either... #3,5 (well with my kids... hehe) & 6 - I'm with you there!
By Texas_Ivy10, at 1/05/2006 12:51:00 PM

Aren't you supposed to be honeymooning with yer honey? ;-)
By Marie, at 1/05/2006 12:57:00 PM
Have fun this weekend, Mrs. Nick!!
-
Congrats on your win! Wow, your kids had some serious time off! Weren't they bored out of their skulls?? Hmm, the cow skull, very Georgia O'Keefe, but I don't think I could do it either! Good luck on your race. You are more woman than I could ever hope to be!!

The first time I saw Nick's apartment I couldn't take my eyes off that skull - it's like it was watching me! (Of course, the first thing I noticed was the big-assed Texas state flag - put a pole under the thing and you could sleep a family of 12!)
By JustCara, at 1/05/2006 03:08:00 PM
Best of luck at Bandera (and of course, congratulations on the weddin'! Post pictures!!!!)

Happy Thursday 13. I think in this day and age, it's difficult to keep in touch with friends. We're all so busy with work, errands and our families. Thank goodness for IM and email. I think that helps a lot.
By Chickadee, at 1/05/2006 03:14:00 PM

Great list!
By YellowRose, at 1/05/2006 08:39:00 PM
And #5...I vowed that I would never let a day go by that I didn't tell my kids that I love them and to this day, I have kept that promise. They are 17 and 20. They usually hear it quite a few times a day even! ;) A great resolution!
Oh and Hook'Em Horns!!!! We are a Longhorn household, and there was celebrating done last night! LOL
My 13 is up! http://yellowrosesgarden.blogspot.com/

I'm with on the resolution thing... I'm not big into them mostly 'cause I usually forget what I resolved to do in the first place!!

"Who is this who darkens
counsel By words without
knowledge? Now prepare
yourself like a man; I will
question you, and you shall
answer Me.
"Where were you when I
laid the foundations of the
earth? Tell Me, if you
have understanding. Who
determined its measurements?
Surely you know! Or who
stretched the line upon it?
To what were its foundations
fastened? Or who laid its
cornerstone, When the
morning stars sang together,
And all the sons of God
shouted for joy? "Or who
shut in the sea with doors,
When it burst forth and
issued from the womb;
When I made the clouds
its garment, And thick
darkness its swaddling
band; When I fixed My
limit for it, And set bars
and doors; When I said,
'This far you may come,
but no farther, And here
your proud waves must stop!'
"Have you commanded the
morning since your days began,
And caused the dawn to know
its place, That it might take hold
of the ends of the earth, And
the wicked be shaken out of it?
It takes on form like clay under
a seal, And stands out like a
garment. From the wicked
their light is withheld, And
the upraised arm is broken.
"Have you entered the springs
of the sea? Or have you walked
in search of the depths? Have
the gates of death been
revealed to you? Or have
you seen the doors of the
shadow of death? Have
you comprehended the
breadth of the earth?
Tell Me, if you know all this.
"Where is the way to the
dwelling of light? And
darkness, where is its
place, That you may
take it to its territory,
That you may know
the paths to its home?
Do you know it,
because you were
born then, Or because
the number of your days
is great? "Have you
entered the treasury
of snow, Or have you
seen the treasury of hail,
Which I have reserved
for the time of trouble,
For the day of battle
and war? By what way
is light diffused, Or
the east wind scattered
over the earth?
"Who has divided
a channel for the
overflowing water,
Or a path for the
thunderbolt, To
cause it to rain
on a land where
there is no one,
A wilderness in
which there is no
man; To satisfy
the desolate waste,
And cause to spring
forth the growth of
tender grass?
Has the rain a
father? Or who
has begotten the
drops of dew?
From whose
womb comes
the ice? And the
frost of heaven,
who gives it birth?
The waters harden
like stone, And the
surface of the deep
is frozen. "Can you
bind the cluster of the
Pleiades, Or loose the
belt of Orion? Can you
bring out Mazzaroth in
its season? Or can you
guide the Great Bear
with its cubs? Do you
know the ordinances of
the heavens? Can you
set their dominion over
the earth? "Can you lift
up your voice to the clouds,
That an abundance of water
may cover you? Can you
send out lightnings, that they
may go, And say to you,
'Here we are!'? Who
has put wisdom in the mind?
Or who has given understanding
to the heart?
Who can number the clouds
by wisdom? Or who can pour
out the bottles of heaven,
When the dust hardens in
clumps, And the clods cling
together?
"Can you hunt the prey for
the lion, Or satisfy the appetite
of the young lions, When they
crouch in their dens, Or lurk
in their lairs to lie in wait?
Who provides food for
the raven, When its young
ones cry to God, And
wander about for lack
of food?
Best Wishes,
Dr. Howdy
P.S. You have a riveting web
log and undoubtedly must have
atypical & quiescent potential
for your intended readership.

My father had a HUMAN SKULL from his medical school days in our basement. Now that creeped me out!!

I don't mean he went to medical school in our basement. I meant the skull was in our basement. Heh heh.

i tackle a section of my flowerbed each year, we've been in this house 11 years and i'm not done yet, but there are parts i still want to go back to and re-do, i'll never be done but i like doing it, so it's not a chore.
By Better Safe Than Sorry, at 1/06/2006 06:45:00 PM
those are great goals, my biggest problem is keeping in touch with friends too, never seem to have enough time.

Oh, come on. Everyone knows no home's decor is complete without a cow skull. ;)

Good luck with the running! That's something I never enjoyed. I was a devoted swimmer for seven years...practiced before and afterschool and twice a day in the summer...but I used to tell my coach all the time, "If I wanted to run I'd join track or XX!" :p But God bless you!
By Kimmy, at 1/08/2006 09:31:00 PM
Congrats on the wedding!
Jacob (my son) says I should take the cow skull since I'm part cow. (I've had cow bone attached to my jaws.) Real funny! But, hey, if that'll help you get rid of the thing! :D
My 13 are up.
